Since climbing the corporate ladder I have found myself asking many questions in my working life as my roles became more senior and with it more complex. I found myself questioning what the best approach might be to a challenges I hadn’t necessarily encountered before, and thought at the time the best way was simply to ask someone for the answer. When I first went to Susan for some coaching on these challenges, that is what I expected: to be given the answer. Wrong. The best way for me to describe this is to use the saying ‘Give a man a fish and you’ll feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you’ve fed him for a lifetime’.
